Helping nations prepare for the next normal
COVID-19 has disrupted lives, businesses and infrastructures across APAC. And while the private sector has been faster to begin adopting new digital solutions, the public sector still lagged far behind, especially at a time when citizens and industry leaders were looking to their governments for critical support and services.
So how could governments find the right solutions to support businesses and people in this time of need?
Microsoft, as the world’s largest software company, rose to this challenge and created the first-ever APAC Public Sector Digital Summit: a two-day virtual event that empowered government and industry leaders across eight countries to take the lead in accelerating their digital transformations.
"Government Chief Information Officers were underprepared in many different ways. The ability to coordinate a rapid response was constrained by legacy systems and processes that weren’t talking to each other, and ageing technology."

Creating a forum for change
We gathered Prime Ministers, government, enterprise and thought leaders to discuss and share
how technology can tackle some of society’s most pressing issues from infrastructure to education, cybersecurity, environment, healthcare, and the future of work.
The APAC Public Sector Digital Summit united some of most influential leaders and changemakers from Microsoft, the public and private sectors.
We knew executing an event of this scale and magnitude was going to be no mean feat. And even more
so virtually on Microsoft Teams, which required careful planning and coordination. We delivered from
start to finish, by first inspiring leaders to join the event through videos, paid media assets, emails and
a sponsorship prospectus.
We orchestrated and moderated panel discussions featuring 18 Government and State-owned Enterprise leaders. We connected executive speakers from all over the world to stream their presentations from everywhere. We enabled attendees to network virtually. And we also kept the event’s momentum going
by amplifying and spreading learnings to leaders who couldn’t attend the summit live.
