LOST IN THE RAIN - A ROAD SAFETY INITIATIVE BY CHEVROLET
In India, 8 people die from road accidents every hour, many of them pedestrians. This number rises sharply when it rains. For the coming monsoon season, we wanted to make a difference. Using a special hydrophobic spray, we created safety messages at dangerous crossings around India. These sprayed-on messages are invisible when dry and only appear when it rains to warn pedestrians and drivers to take more care on wet roads.
HOW WE CREATED THE "INVISIBLE" SAFETY MESSAGES
We created stencils of our safety messages and laid them out at dangerous crossing around India.
We then used a special hydrophobic spray and sprayed over the stencils on dry roads.
The surface that is covered by the spray now has an invisible layer that repels water and keeps it dry.
When it rains, the road gets wet and becomes darker in colour but the messages stay dry and appear magically.

WHY WE DID IT
India is one of the top countries in the world when it comes to the number of road accidents. The number of accidents is so staggering that Prime Minister Modi of India reached out to GM to help make India's roads safer.
THE RESULTS
We captured everything on video and shared it on YouTube and Facebook to raise awareness. The campaign attracted media attention and got 14.2 million views generating 2.8 million engagements with a 92% positive sentiment score - demonstrating Chevrolet's commitment to making India's roads safer.
